Ryzhova Nadya: golovan evgeniy пишет: Hello Ryzhova Nadya! You have a very beautiful house. And you have a wonderful pets. Hi, Evgeniy! Thank you, I love flowers and pets.

Yulya-93: Dear William, I am very thankful to my destiny for the opportunity to write a letter to you. I would like to tell you a tale: “Some years ago in a faraway snowy country there lived a girl. She was a pretty, fair-haired and charming girl. The parents loved her very much and mother did all her best to make their daughter happy. She sang her Russian folk songs before sleeping, told fairy tales. Most of all Julia enjoyed those tales, where there was a princess. She was eager to become a beautiful princess, go to the ball-dancing and meet a handsome prince. The girl has grown up and her dream has come true”. Julia is me! My dream has come true! I am writing a letter to a real prince! I live in a faraway country – Russia. I am 16 years old and I am a school-leaver, after finishing school I want to enter the university, get higher education and become a lawyer. I live in a small provincial town in Kuzbass. It is one of the main industrial regions in our country. My town is situated on the bank of a beautiful river Kiya and is surrounded by old mountains the Archecass and a thick forest, taiga. My native town is famous for wooden carving on many buildings. The famous local writer named my town “A wooden flower”. Recently Mariinsk has received the status “The town-museum” and with great pleasure I invite you to visit it. Will you come? My native town is named Mariinsk in honor of the Russian empress Maria. In the center of the town there is a monument to her, the only monument to this empress in Russia. I think you will be surprised when you lear that we have a monument to potatoes, the only monument to potatoes in the world! It symbolizes the fact that potatoes saved lives of many people during the World War II. One more surprise! People in Europe think that in Siberia bears walk along street. But in our town two big alive bears live in the family of one man. Every person can come to feed them and play with them. I am proud of my native town and love it because it is my small Motherland. I know that you are fond of works by W. Shakespeare; I also like his sonnets, my favourite sonnet by Shakespeare is sonnet №130 (“My mistress’ eyes are nothing like the sun…”). I was greatly impressed by the tragedy of two young people in the play “Romeo and Juliet”. I saw this play in the drama theatre. Have you ever performed on the stage? I read that you are a very well-rounded person and have many hobbies. Hockey is one of them. As for me, I like to skate in winter. When the weather is warm I go to the skating rink and enjoy skating and communicating with my friends. Besides I like travelling. My parents and I travelled to the Black Sea coast, to the ancient Russian towns of the Gold Ring near the capital of our country Moscow. But most of all I was surprised by the beauty and greatness of Russian nature near the lake Baikal, the deepest lake in the world with fresh water! If you enjoy travelling I will be glad to be your guide in Siberia. I have a dream to visit England and learn more about the native place of Shakespeare, the history of art in England and visit the National Portrait gallery in London. And do you have a dream? What is it? I will look forward to your letter. I hope to hear from you soon. With best wishes, Julia.

Kate1999: Dear Julia, I liked your story about Mariinsk very much. And very interesting have you ever heard about Kalingrad? This is where I am from.

Вячеслав: Hello Yulya-93! Nice to meet a new participant! Your letter is a pleasant surprise for your pen friend. I wish you good luck!

Kate1999: P.S. By the way, who are you writing to?

Афанасенкова Л.М.: Dear Yulya-93! I am very glad to see you here. But I want you to register on the forum. You have to fulfil a lot of tasks here. Good luck!
