Mary_@t: I've read them in the original and in Russian. I prefer the original text. There is a lot of humor, that is not translated in Russian. Which of 6 books you have read in engish?

Новицкая М.В.: I've read all the books about Harry Potter. It is absolutely awesome. My favorite books. I also like the books much more than the films. But films are good too. I am in love with Rupert Grint and Alan Rickman. They are so cool!

Мельник М: I just love it! You will understand the atmosphere of the books only if you read them in english. So did I!
Mary_@t: Winnie_the_poo I was crying when I read about how Snape killed Dumbledore when I read the English book. There is a lot of grief in the words of Rowling, which Russian translators didn't show. I never cry when I read "The Order of the Fhoenix" or "The Half-Blood Prince" in Russian but I cried when I read it in English

Mary_@t: To Shadow I wanted to read "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" as early, as possible, too. Now I understand how great it is to know English. There is a lot of silly mistakes in the Russian translation. For example: in Chapter Thirty Rowling writes "Ron, he saw, was now holding Hermione and stroking her hair while she soobed into his shoulder, tears dripping from the end of his own long nose.". And the Russian translators wrote as if tears were dripping from the end of Hermione's long nose!

Mary_@t: MARGO And which of Harry Potter books did you read in English? All of them or a few? I've read the sixth book in the English and in the American variant. There are some differences in language. I also discovered a phrase in the American variant that is not contained in the English variant!

Mary_@t: Prosto Ya The 7 book will be published in the summer of 2007 year. I want to be in London on this day, of course in Moscow it will appear on the same day, but visiting London is my dream since I began learning English. Thanks to Rowling, reading her books I improove my English, I understood everything without looking into the dictionary.

Mary_@t: To Prosto Ya Last year I took part in this olympiad but I didn't win. It is a good thing to win, but I just enjoy doing the tasks, they are very unusual. My favorite task this year was to write a parody on a poem. You know that there are poems of the Sorting hat in Rowling's books. So when I was composing a verse I was thinking about how difficult it was for J. Rowling to make such a big poem.

Mary_@t: To Мельник М I think you will agree with me when I say that the atmosphere in Rowling's books is mysterious fascinating exciting and surprisingly interesting. It is hard to live without Harry Potter books in the original for two years when Joan Rowling is writing a new book. But it always a great pleasure to me to reread "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" in English because it is my favorite book of all the six!

Mary_@t: MARGO I like Tolkien very much. I've read it in the original and enjoyed it. And I'm also fond of Harry Potter's books. Tolkien and Rowling are cool!

METEORA: I have just come from the cinema. All in all I like the film(acting, effects etc) but the book is much more interesting. Film is only a short versoin of it. It is pity, I was looking for smt more than three competitions for a cup
