Бессонова Анастасия: I want to introduce myself. My name is Anastasia. I live in the Zhelesnodorozhnyi, and I study in grade 10 at the gymnasium number 9. I love to participate in different interesting competitions. I am a very creative person. My motto is: "Creative - it’s part of the solution of problems." At school I take an active part in organize different holidays. it's very fun and interesting! I have a lot of different hobbies: drama, foreign languages (English and German), literature, journalism, sports, and much- much more. I really want to go study in London, and I hope that this dream will necessarily come true! What is Christmas? I think that Christmas is a wonderful holiday, which brings together people of different nationalities, with different interests, different professions. Traditionally people decorate the house, cook dinner, give each other presents. Father Christmas brings presents to every house and gives them to children. Even London's homeless, living in underground passages decorate their small cardboard box Christmas tree with lights. The main dish on this day - it's Christmas pudding. Mmmm, it's very tasty! Every young woman cooks the Christmas pudding, if she wishes to be married that year. Christmas is the most magical holiday. I decided to take part in this competition because I like learning about other nations' traditons and I'd like to know more about Catholic holidays as well. It is interesting to find out what are the main differences between our celebrating and, for example, American one. Also, I'd love to know about other people's New Year's plans! How about you? Do you feel happy about the beginning of winter? I do. I really like this season, because I like winter weather. White snow, fresh wind, winter games with friends, holiday mood… Mmm… Marvelous! And there are so magic Holidays in winter like New Year, Christmas… Catholics will celebrate Christmas in 25th of December, and Christians in 7th of January. Christmas isn't so popular in Russia as in other countries. I think it is not fairly. I believe, it would be nice to make Christmas more famous holiday. I hope, you’ll agree with me. It is a good reason to be closer with your relatives and friends. You can give any presents to your friends and get congratulations from them, too. And you? Risha: Ира Липчанская, I have a few questions to you. First of all, it was said that "Catholics celebrate Christmas on December,25th and Christians on January,7th". But aren't you agree that Catholics are Christians? And then "Christmas isn't as popular in Russia as in other countries". Why do you think so? Don't you think that Catholic and Orthodox Christians simply have different ways of celebrating this holiday? I guess it will be the first topic to discuss here :)

I live in wonderful small town Zheleznodorozny. I'm in 10 grade and I am pleased to see my classmates here There are many things that don't allow my life to be boring and gray. This is dancing, singing, school of Journalism, many different books, my family, my friends and many other things. I decided to take part in this project, because I love the English language and magical Christmas holiday is my favorite holiday from childhood. How can you not love Christmas?! This holiday has generated a lot of character and in every country they own. Christmas is a religious holiday, but now it's celebrated even in countries without the Christian religion. Some customs are so amazing! For example, In Germany the couple stand under the windows of their homes and fired from a gun. How much more they make shots, so much stronger would be their marriage. That is why I am taking part in «My happy Christmas» contest. Christmas is the greatest holiday for me so the theme of the competition foreshadows something wonderful. Participating in this project-contest, I want to fulfill myself not only as an organizer of children's parties and improve my skills in this sphere, and also I want to arrange a holiday where parents could feel themselves little ones like their children. It is really gorgeous town, because there are so many interesting and nice places in Zheleznodoroznyj. Is it enough for you?

Risha: Ира Липчанская, Oh yes, thank you. It means that we live not that far from each other. I'm from Kaluga. Well...what can I say about Christmas? First off, it is a great holiday that makes people feel happy! Christmas means laughing and spending time with your family and friends but most important of all is celebrating the birth of Christ! Christmas to me means spending time with those you love and who love you. It's not about presents as a lot of kids think. I'm agree that New Year is a holiday for presents because it is not religious and is not that deep. But! I don't want to say that I like New Year less than Christmas! These two holidays means a lot to me because I spend them with my relatives. Actually, I can quite confidently say that these holidays are my favourite! It is pity that many people don't take Chritmas as serious as they should. And as for me, people who don't believe in God have to respect religios people and simply enjoy this unique time when all of us feel so blessed!

I can say that I have rather many interests, at first it is painting, I finished art school and painting gives me big pleasure, secondly I care for foreign literature and languages, I study English and German and I’d like to study French. Also there is theatre, concerts, and by the way I care for different braiding I see that you are looking forward to Christmas. You know so am I! because it is really a magic time, I agree with you. To my mind you can hardly find such a person, which don`t like this holiday. It`s so wonderful when you begin to realize that this time is coming. It seems to me that for this time everyone back to his childhood a little bit: gifts, Christmas tree, plum pudding, festive mood, masquerades. Risha: Elena Viktorovna, hello! Well..I can't say that we have unique traditions of celebrating in my family but I can tell you what we usually do when I go to my relatives. As a rule we buy presents, tasty food and different ornamentals a couple of days before the holiday. Then my uncle go to the forest to cut a fir-tree. All of us go with him to the forest where we play snowballs and have fun with my cousins. Adults talk, laugh and take pictures of us and snowy nature. We give presents to each other the last day of the year. Every December, 31st I feel sorry about the year that is going to leave us :) Adults cook, me and my cousins spend all day long outside with our friends. At night we watch TV, dance, make jokes and go for a walk. New Year is amazing! I can't wait!

Risha: Ilya, I KNEW you would ask me about it! I even wanted to mention that my uncle does it legal but decided not to do it. Even don't know why. Anyway, I do know that it is prohibited in most of places of our country:) And I've got four cousins- three of them are girls and one of them is a boy. Almost all of them are younger than me. Maybe I'll upload some of their photos if I find them. And no, I don't know the second task...do you?
Ира Липчанская: What about me and my family, we celebrate Christmas every Year. I'm agree with Risha, that it is religious holiday. But i like to give presents to my relatives and friends. It is funny. That's why we haven't any Christmas without presents. They can make people happy, because they say, that we don't feel indifference to each other. Present it isn't something expensive. It can be letter with some pleasant words, favorite meal etc. I think, New Year is the holiday with useful presents, and Christmas is the holiday with necessary presents for soul. Ahaha!

It was the most interesting, creative and difficult. As I have received bright sensations during carrying out of a holiday at the school. It was pleasant to all also all tried to feel and prove. In English I have not learnt new phrases and words, but it was very pleasant to communicate on other, not a native language. It is interesting and informative. And as Soon new year and Christmas, I would like to wish the schoolmates too to participate in such project and to receive weight of new sensations. I would like to wish other participants of the project excellent results on the project, new and fresh ideas, execution of dream, good mood and it is a lot of positive.
